Social committee Report
An excellent race was enjoyed by all with nine club boats competing for the very prestigious Jim Ellis trophy. The result are (after handicap):
1st Place - Stinger 2nd Place - Satisfaction 3rd Place - Young Entertainer (line honors) 4th Place - Unity The record for the fastest time set by Young Entertainer of 3 hours 54 minutes in 2011 remains unbeaten.
Fun was had by all at the beach barbecue and we were joined by more club boats including Stranger, GR8 Fun, Resolute and more. The house committee awarded lots of prizes. The best dressed crew was awarded to Eye Spy for all dressing as The Phantom of the Opera. The best dressed lady went to Gary of Blue Beat who was a very convincing princess?! And the best dressed man was given to Darcy of Young Entertainer for dressing as a prisoner. There were also lots of other inventive costumes including painters, paper boys, patisserie chiefs, pennies, and of course pirates arghhhhhh!
