Results Young Entertainer 5th Firsty 4th Blue Beat 3rd Nona 2nd Eye Spy 1st Race report from Eye Spy Not much wind on the start and Eyespy with Greg on the helm Trevor on main and for deck and Gill and JK doing the real work. Hovering, hovering and off with a slight southerly and us tacking down to Kauri where the wind....stops. The Eye got lucky (ALL Day) and tacked ahead of Firsty to take the lead. Smiles in front, frowns and muttering behind. Around Meola and downhill with the tide and wind and we are OFF. Looking back, it's four boats in a row, we just need to keep them there. Hunted by the hounds. Rule number one; put your boat between the finish and the opposition, and so it was with a spynaker finish. Thirty seconds later a 160 degree wind shift saw the others Spyns plastered back over their fore stays. Don't you hate it when that happens? Um,,not if you have finished. Regards, Greg Jones |
